Google Launches Imagen 4: The Next-Gen AI Giant for Text-to-Image Generation

Imagen 4 now has Google’s next big AI tools for the most accurate text-to-image generation. As the company has claimed, it will give 10x better quality and accuracy than its previous version, Imagen 3. Recently, Google hosted its biggest developer conference, where it announced multiple news items about its new projects, updates, and portfolio.

Google introduced Imagen 4 along with the Veo 3 video generative model, Google XR-based Smart Glasses, Wear OS 6, and much more, but Imagen 4 caught my attention because Google is still surviving in the image-generation AI tools while others are getting to their peak.

However, according to TechCrunch‘s report, the company has claimed that the Imagen 4 AI will generate better-quality pictures compared to the Imagen 3.

How to Use Imagen 4 AI Tool

The Imagen 4 is now available in the Gemini AI App, Google’s Whisk, and Vertex AI platforms. I mainly used the Gemini AI to feel the Imagen 4 features, and we were seriously impressed with the accuracy and quality of the picture. Google also says the Imagen 4 is responding 10x faster than the Imagen 3 model with more accurate and high-quality results that I seriously felt. Josh Woodward, who leads the Google’s Lab group, says it is a strong step into the high-quality and accurate result in text-to-image generation tool.

ChatGPT vs Imagen 4 Image Generation

I have written a prompt and submitted it on both of the platforms for image generation, and you can’t believe how good both are in this race. The prompts were— Please generate a highly detailed image of a lush green forest during rainfall, with a serene waterfall cascading into a clear pool of water. The scene should capture mist rising from the waterfall, raindrops rippling on the water’s surface, and dense foliage surrounding the area, creating a tranquil and immersive natural atmosphere.

When we put the prompt into the Gemini AI, which includes the Imagen 4 model, the tool generated this image in around 9 seconds, and I was really satisfied with that. I feel it is faster because 9 seconds is quite faster than the industry’s best text-to-image generation tool. Here is the result—

As you can see, the Imagen 4 has generated an image in square format of a canvas with natural views and no artificial looks, and I was really impressed when it got results in around 9 seconds.

ChatGPT is also known for generating the high-quality and most accurate results. When i submitted similar prompt to the ChatGPT, it takes more than 25 seconds to generate the image and here are the results:

ChatGPT generated a vertical image that was most accurate to the prompt and had no artificial look. Even it has a more accurate result because I asked for rain, and you can see the raindrops over the waterfall. The image quality and accuracy are really impressive, but it takes more than 26 seconds, which has to be fixed.

ChatGPT vs Imagen 4: Winner

Both of the AI tools generated a high-quality picture more accurate to the prompts. The difference I feel is that Gemini generated a square-shaped picture, while ChatGPT generated an image similar to a 9:16 ratio. No compromise in the quality, but when it comes to fast response, the Imagen 4 is far ahead of ChatGPT.

Apart from that, Gemini AI added a watermark on the generated images, while ChatGPT didn’t, which includes a huge advantage for the users to use images directly on their social media.
